Onboarding Gets More Conversational
The headline change is Crestodian's move toward agent-loop setup across CLI, web install, and the macOS app. Instead of forcing every new operator through static setup steps, the release notes describe AI-guided provider setup, model-judged approvals bound to exact operations, masked credential prompts, and deterministic fallback when no model is available.

ClawRouter Becomes More Central

The 2026.7.1 train also recognizes the OpenAI GPT-5.6 family across API-key, ChatGPT/Codex OAuth, simple-completion, and Codex app-server paths. Session titles, Gateway-backed groups, unread state, rename, fork, archive, delete, and group management are all part of the same release story.
Taken together, beta.5 looks like a stabilization-heavy preview for a release that wants OpenClaw to feel less like a bundle of power tools and more like a coherent multi-device agent operating system.
